The Companies Act (2014) has mandated that companies with net worth of Rs 500 crore or more, companies with turnover of Rs 1000 crore or more, and those with net profit of Rs 5 crore or more requires spending of at least 2% of its average net profit for the immediately preceding 3 financial years on CSR activities.
