SOCIAL CARE INITIATIVES FOR NEEDY
Along with the Rotary International in Chennai, SSHT is involved in Installation of Hand Wash Stations in Government Schools in Tamilnadu, to promote Hygiene and sanitation
Shortly, we will have a Women’s Self Help Groups at one of SSHT’s adopted Villages and with Rotary’s training, the women will be manufacturing Reusable Feminine Hygiene Products, to supplement their income.
DISASTER RELIEF ACTIVITIES
SSHT has always lent a helping hand in times of natural disasters, by providing relief supplies during the Nepal Earthquake of 2014, the Chennai floods in 2015 and the Kerala floods of 2018.
In addition to sending clothes, provisions, medicines etc. to the affected locations, SSHT also participated in the Medical camps for the victims of the floods in Kerala.
GO DHANA TO IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES
Donation of cow and calf to impoverished families is one of our Rural empowerment programmes.
We have so far donated 7 cows-calves to deserving impoverished families in the villages, helping them make a living.
DAAN UTSAV FESTIVAL OF GIVING
Daan Utsav- India’s festival of giving is widely celebrated in many locations where we have our ongoing activities, encouraging corporates to give back to the community in their own possible ways.
